Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for records pertaining to the order dated 10.10.2011 in Memo No.618/AdmI/A2/F.panel/2011 and the order dated 25.10.2011 Ku.Aa.No.656/Ni.Pi.1/Thi.Vu.2/Koo.Promotion/ 2011 passed by the third respondent quash the same and consequently direct the third respondent to include the names of Thiru.R.Thangaraj, Thiru.K.Munusamy and Thiru.S.Ponnusamy in the select list shown as Annexure - I to the order dated 10.10.2011 above the names of the respondents 5 to 8 and to promote them as Foreman Grade - I with all consequential benefits.

O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed by an organization making a claim for promotion of some of its members over and above the Respondents 5 to 8.

2. This court has entertained a doubt about the maintainability of the

writ petition at the instance of an organization, especially considering the fact that the claim made is for promotion. However, it is brought to the notice of this court by Mr.C.Ramkumar, learned counsel appearing for the Respondents 1 to 3, that during the pendancy of the present writ petition, three members of the petitioners viz., Thiru.R.Thangaraj, Thiru.K.Munusamy and Thiru.Ponnusamy were already promoted to the post of 'Foreman Grade - I' and the said three persons as well as the Respondents 5 to 8 have been working in the said cadre as on date.

3. In the light of the above, the learned counsel for the petitioner requested for closure of the writ petition with liberty to the said three persons for whose benefits the present writ petition has been filed to workout their remedies, in case if they still got any further grievance.

4. By duly placing on record the submissions made by Mr.C.Ramkumar, learned counsel appearing for the Respondents 1 to 3, the writ petition is closed. No costs. Connected miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed.
