Petition praying that in the circumstances stated therein and in the Memorandum of Grounds in CRL A.77/2019 on the file of the High Court, the High Court will be pleased to suspend the sentence passed by the Special court for trial the case related to the Elected Members of the Legislative Assembly and the Members of Parliament Assembly of Tamil Nadu at Chennai in S.C.No.505 of 2018 dated 07.01.2019.

Order : This petition coming on for orders upon perusing the petition and the Memorandum of Grounds in CRL A.77/2019 on the file of the High Court and upon hearing the arguments of M/S.R.JAYAPRAKASH, Advocate for the petitioner and of MR.R.RAVICHADRAN, ADDITIONAL PUBLIC PROSECUTOR on behalf of the Respondent the court made the following order:- This miscellaneous petition has been seeking to suspend the sentence imposed on the petitioner by judgment dated 07.01.2019 by the Special Court for Cases related to Elected Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assembly of Tamilnadu, Chennai, pending the above criminal appeal.

In view of the seriousness of the offence committed by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to entertain the miscellaneous petition seeking suspension of sentence and hence the same is dismissed.
