This writ petition has been filed for issue of writ of mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the application submitted by the petitioner dated 11.12.2023, seeking for the renewal of license for the period from 01.01.2024 to 31.12.2024.
2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the respondents. 3.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that every time the petitioner is made to knock the doors of this Court seeking for renewal of license. Even for the previous year, the petitioner had filed a writ petition in W.P.No.25132 of 2023, and sought for a similar prayer and this writ petition was disposed of by an order dated 01.09.2023. Pursuant to the said order, the license
was renewed for the year 2023-2024 on 30.10.2023. The license was to expire on 31.12.2023 and hence, the petitioner had sought for renewal of the license through an application dated 11.12.2023. The same was kept pending and hence, left with no other option, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.
4.When the matter came up for hearing on 12.02.2024, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor sought for some time to take instructions in this case. Accordingly, the writ petition was posted for hearing today. 5.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions submitted that the field inspection report is awaited and that a decision will be taken on the application filed by the petitioner seeking for renewal of license, within a period of four weeks.
6.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, there shall be a direction to the 1st respondent to take a decision on the renewal of license sought for by the petitioner for the year 2024, within a period of four weeks from today.
7.This writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No Costs.
