ORDER

The case has been heard through video conference The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 4(1)(a) r/w 4(1-A) of TNP Act and under Sections 328 of IPC, in Crime No.18 of 2021, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2.The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with her son were found in illegally possession of 25 bottles of Brandy each 180ML and 580 grams of Mava. Hence, the complaint was registered.

3.The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent person and she has been falsely implicated in this case. He would further submit that co-accused has already been https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

arrested and thereafter, he was released on bail by the learned Principal Sessions Judge, Chennai in Crl.M.P.No.1636 of 2021 dated 04.02.2021. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the petitioner along with her son were found in illegally possession of 25 bottles of Brandy each 180ML and 580 grams of Mava. He would further submit that entire contraband was seized by the respondent police. He would further submit that there are six previous cases pending as against the petitioner. Hence he vehemently opposed to grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and that the petitioner has involved in very serious offence and there are six previous cases pending as against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
