C O M M O N O R D E R A report has been received from the learned Principal Special Judge, Special Court under EC and NDPS Act, Chennai, to the effect that charge sheet has been filed by the respondent on 11.01.2024 and it was filed before the expiry of the statutory period.

In view of the above development, the statutory bail that was sought for by the petitioners is not maintainable. This Court has already given sufficient directions in the earlier order passed in Crl OP No.901 of 2024 reported in CDJ 2024 MHC 784, as to how the Special Courts must deal with such statutory bail petitions.

In view of the above, it will be left open to the petitioners to seek for regular bail before the Court below and the same shall be dealt with on its own merits and in accordance with law. 2/4
