ORDER

The petitioner apprehends arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 4(1)(A) of TNP Act, in Crime No.6 of 2026 on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that on 08.01.2026, the petitioner was found to be in illegal possession of kingfisher Beer (650 ml) - 94 bottles,

Officer's Choice Brandy (180 ml) - 100 bottles and Men's Club Brandy - 35 bottles, totalling 289 bottles, allegedly valued at Rs.45,230/- and on seeing the police, he ran away from the scene of occurrence and the said contraband was seized by the respondent police. Hence the case has been registered.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is innocent and he has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that he is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court and he is ready to co-operate for investigation. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution's case and upon instructions submitted that the petitioner is having sixty one previous cases of similar in nature. Hence, she opposed to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

5. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case; and taking note of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side); the nature of allegations levelled against the petitioner; and also the fact that sixty one previous cases of similar in nature has been registered against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
