O R D E R

The petitioner/accused seeks a direction for disposal of his bail petition on the same day by the learned 1st Additional Sessions Judge , under SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Thanjavur. 2.

Petitioner is accused of having committed offences under Sections 3(1)(m)(r) (s) of SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Amendment Ordinance Act 2014 in Crime No. 138 of 2015 on the file of the respondent.

3. There is allegation of commission of offence under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Section 18 of the Act is a bar to grant anticipatory bail.

4. In the facts and circumstances, the petition is ordered as under: (i) The petitioner shall surrender before the learned 1st Additional Sessions Judge, SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Thanjavur within fifteen days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

(ii) On filing his bail petition, the learned Principal District and Sessions Judge, will dispose of the same on merits on the same day according to law.
