Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus to direct the second respondent herein to refer the matter of equivalence of B.Sc., (Agriculture) conferred by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University as equivalent to B.Sc. (Forestry) of the same University, for the purpose of employment, to the Equivalence Committee of the second respondent herein and consequently direct the first respondent herein to issue Government orders based on the said report within a time frame to be fixed by this Court and consequently select and appoint the petitioner to the post of Forest Apprentice Group-VI services advertised vide the Notification dated 24.11.2010.

The learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner as well as the respondents made a submission that the Equivalence Committee constituted under the Rules in its 49th meeting held on 10.09.2014 has examined the request of the Universities and the Educational Institutions for relaxation of the courses offered by them for the purpose of appointments in public service and for higher studies.

2.The Equivalence Committee has taken a decision that the educational qualification of B.Sc., (Agriculture) by the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, is not equivalent to B.Sc., (Forestry).

3.Thus, there is no further adjudication is required on the grounds raised in this writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition stands closed.
