Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 1 and 2 to assess the proper property for the larger extent of 2 acres 0.4 cents approximately, bearing Patta No.325, comprised in Survey in S.No.222/1 situated at Sathankadu Village, Ponneri Taluk, Thriuvallur District on the basis of petitioner's representation dated 23.07.2024 within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

This writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 & 2 to consider and dispose of the representation made by the petitioner dated 23.07.2024.

2. Mr.D.B.R.Prabhu, learned Standing counsel, takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 and 2. By consent of the parties, the main writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself. 2/6

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that in this case, the petitioner had filed a representation to assess the proper property tax for the subject property. However, the said representation was not at all considered and disposed of by the respondents 1 & 2 till date. Hence, this petition has been filed.

4. In reply, the learned Standing counsel appearing for the respondents 1 & 2 had confirmed the above submission and would request this Court to pass appropriate orders.

5. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Standing counsel for the respondents 1 & 2 and also perused the materials available on record.

6. In the present case, it appears that the petitioner had filed a representation to assess the proper property tax for the subject property. However, the said representation was not at all considered and disposed 3/6

of by the respondents 1 & 2 till date.

7. In view of the above, this Court directs the respondents 1 & 2 to consider the representation filed by the petitioner dated 23.07.2024 and dispose of the same on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of 4 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

8. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
