Common Prayer: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of writ of mandamus, directing the first and second respondents herein to approve the petitioners appointment as Office Assistant in the third respondent college with effect from 01.11.2016, with all service and monetary benefits based on the proposal submitted by the third respondent college dated 03.01.2020. C O M M O N O R D E R These writ petitions have been filed for the issue of writ of mandamus directing the first and second respondents to grant approval for the appointment of the petitioners as Office Assistant in the third respondent college.

The case of the petitioners is that there is a sanctioned post of Office Assistant that has been granted to the third respondent College. This post fell vacant and the third respondent college has selected and appointed the petitioners to the post of Office Assistant on 28.10.2016. The petitioners claimed that the college committee has approved the appointment and thereafter the proposal was sent by the third respondent to the first and second respondents seeking for approval of the appointment of the petitioners. The grievance of the petitioners is that the proposal is kept pending from the year 2017 onwards and various writ petitions have been made in this regard both by the third respondent college as well as the petitioners and the same did not evoke any response from the first and second respondents. Left with no other option, seeking for appropriate directions, the present writ petitions have been filed. 3.
Heard, Mr. A. Rajesh, learned counsel for the petitioners, Mr.Akhil Akbar Ali, learned Government Advocate for R1 & R2 and Mr. C. Robert Bruce, learned counsel for R3. 4.
Taking into consideration of the facts and circumstances of the case and the limited relief that has been sought for in these writ petitions, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to immediately consider the proposal that has been forwarded by the third respondent seeking for the approval of the appointment of the petitioners in the post of Office Assistant and pass appropriate orders strictly in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioners are directed to make a fresh representation to the second respondent through the third respondent college along with a copy of this order. 5.
These writ petitions are disposed of with the above directions. No costs.
