O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for the issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to give police protection to the petitioner and his wife based on the representation made by the petitioner on 22.01.2021.

2.The case of the petitioner is that there was an intercaste marriage between the petitioner and one Sathyapriya on 20.01.2021 and this was opposed by the parents of the girl. The further case of the petitioner is that there is a continuous threat to the petitioner and his wife from the parents and

relatives of the girl. A representation was made by the petitioner seeking for police protection. Since the same was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor on instructions submitted that based on the complaint given by the father of the above said Sathyapriya, a women missing F.I.R. has been registered in Crime No.59 of 2021. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the parties can attend the enquiry before the third respondent and the third respondent will give necessary instructions to the parents and relatives of the girl not to cause any threat or interfere with the life of the petitioner and his wife Sathyapriya.

4.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the specific stand taken by the respondent Police, there shall be a direction to the third respondent to conduct an enquiry in Crime No.59 of 2021 and record the undertaking from the parties and ensure that no threat is caused to the petitioner and his wife from any quarters.
