O R D E R

The grievance of the petitioner is that since his name was not considered for promotion to the post of Accountant against the existing vacancy in the year 2005, he had made representation to the respondents seeking for promotion. Since the representation was not considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

2. It is seen that when the petitioner has now reached the age of superannuation, at this juncture, it would not be appropriate to direct the second respondent to consider the name of the petitioner for the sake of promotion.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner also submitted that though they had sent intimation to the petitioner with regard to listing of the matter, he has not proceeded with the matter.

4. In view of the above, taking into consideration the fact that the petitioner had reached the age of superannuation, no effective orders can be passed. Hence, the writ petition stands closed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. No costs.
