[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to produce the body of the detenu viz. Govindan, S/o.Kasi, aged about 39 years before this Court and set him at liberty.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that his brother Govindan, aged about 39 years went missing from 03.02.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure him and hence, this petition.

3. Today, Mr.K.Veeramani, Sub Inspector of Police, R-10, MGR Nagar Police Station, Chennai-83, is present before this Court.

4. On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in R-10 MGR Nagar Police Station Crime No.86 of 2021 for 'man missing' has been registered. During investigation, it came to light that Govindan has eloped with one Malathi and on a complaint of Malathi's father Dasaradan, another case in R-10 MGR Nagar Police Station Crime No.81 of 2021 has been registered for 'woman missing' and both the cases are under investigation. In view of the above, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed with a direction to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ashok Nagar, to monitor the investigation in R-10, MGR Nagar Police Station Crime Nos.81 and 86 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu is secured, he may be produced before the XXIII Metropolitan Magistrate, Saidapet, Chennai. s/d- Assistant Registrar(CO) True Copy Sub-Assistant Registrar gya To 1.The XXIII Metropolitan Magistrate Saidapet, Chennai.
