ORDER

The petitioner has filed this contempt petition, to punish the respondents for disobeying the order of this Court in W.P.No.25292 of 2021 dated 20.12.2021.

2.This Contempt Petition has been filed for violation of this Court dated 20.01.2021 in W.P.No.25292 of 2021. By the said order, a direction was issued to the respondents to assess the goods in respect of Bill of Entry within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It appears that the show cause notice was issued on 31.01.2022 to which the petitioner has also sent a reply/representation on 09.02.2022. The aforesaid show cause notice has now culminated in the Order-in-Original No.90793 of 2022 dated 13.06.2022 by the Joint Commissioner of Customs (Group-2).

3.Considering the above, I am of the view there is no contempt and therefore no further order is required. Accordingly, this Contempt Petition is closed. It is open for the petitioner to challenge the order of the Joint Commissioner of Customs before the Commissioner of Customs (Appeal) under Section 128(1) of the Customs Act, 1962 within a period of 60 days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
