When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the 1st respondent submitted that though the petitioners have come up with the present criminal original petition seeking to quash the proceedings in C.C.No.16576 of 2024, pending on the file of the Judicial Magistrate No.VI, Salem, the trial in this case has already commenced and out of seven witnesses, five witnesses have already been examined.

2. At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioners sought indulgence of this Court to dispense with the personal appearance of the petitioners before the trial court.

3. Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed. However, acceding to the aforesaid submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, the presence of the petitioners before the trial court is dispensed with, except for receipt of copies, answering the charges, questioning under Section 313 of Cr.P.C. The petitioners shall be duly 2/4

represented by their counsel before the trial court on all hearing dates. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed. 19.02.2026 skt : Yes/No To:
