ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent police to investigate and file a final report in Crime No.186 of 2014 pending on his file.

2. The case of the petitioner is that as against one Balakrishnan and others, he has lodged a complaint with the respondent police and the same was registered as FIR in Crime No.186/2014 for the offences punishable under Sections 147, 294 (b), 323 and 506(i) IPC. Though the complaint was registered on 06.11.2014, till date, final report was not filed. However, the counter complaint lodged by the said Balakrishnan against the petitioner and others, was registered as FIR No.187/2014 and after due investigation, charge sheet was filed before the learned Judicial Magistrate, Gingee. Further, the petitioner and others are regularly attending the court proceedings before the learned Magistrate concerned. Hence, this petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who took notice for the respondent.

Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court directs the respondent police to investigate the case in Crime No.186 of 2014 pending on his file and file a final report, if not already filed, as expeditiously as possible, preferably, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition is ordered.
