ORDER
This writ petition is filed challenging the impugned order made in K.No.UPO/E&U/Mudichur/Ko.Me.Ve.R/A.No.83/24 dated 27.08.2024 and consequently to direct the respondents to provide a new electricity connection in respect of the petitioner's premises bearing Door No. 4/571A, Plot No. 171, Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (Phase I), 6th Street, Annai Indira Nagar, Srinivasa Nagar, Mudichur, Old Perungalathur, Chennai - 600 063.

A perusal of the impugned order reveals that the respondents electricity Board have gone ahead on the premises that the land in question is Government 'Poramboku' land and therefore, unless the No Objection Certificate from the concerned Tahsildar, the respondents electricity Board cannot provide the electricity connection.
3. The contention of the petitioner is that all these lands are occupied by poor persons. The area has already been taken over by the Tamil Nadu 2/6
Urban Habitat Development Board and the process of granting allotment is in progress. Many of the neighbours have also been granted electricity connections.

In that view of the matter, let the petitioner make a representation to the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board and they can issue a communication of no objection/allotment order to the petitioner to enable him to obtain electricity connection. Upon production of the same, the respondents electricity Board shall immediately provide the electricity connection.
5. It will be open for the petitioner to produce a copy of this order and make a representation to the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board. Upon receipt of the said representation, within one week an appropriate communication can be issued by the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board and the petitioner shall produce the same before the respondents electricity Board.
6. The only requirement, as per the terms of electricity supply is to ensure that the petitioner is a lawful occupier. He is an occupier of the land 3/6
and the occupation can either be with an NOC from the Tahsildar or with the permission/allotment of the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board. If the petitioner can produce any one of these documents, the electricity connection can be granted.
7. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 12.02.2025 nsl To 1.
