ORDER

The petitioner, mother of the victim, submitted a representation dated 13.01.2026 making specific allegations that a Chevrolet Tavera bearing Registration No.TN09 AK 5333 had caused an accident, in which her son,

M. Rahul, sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to death. She has also filed a claim petition before the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal. The respondent police initially registered the case only under Sections 279 and 337 IPC and later altered the FIR.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that, at the outset, a case was registered in Crime No.232 of 2019 under Sections 279 and 337 IPC. Subsequently, after recording the evidence of eyewitnesses and preparing the rough sketch, the case was altered to Sections 279 and 304-A IPC. It is further submitted that the investigation is almost complete. However, the petitioner was directed to produce the motorbike bearing Registration No.TN09 M 8776 along with relevant documents. As the petitioner has not produced the same, the investigation could not be completed.

3. The Learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner is now willing to produce the motorbike before the respondent police for examination and would cooperate with the investigation to ensure that Crime No.232 of 2019 is completed without further delay.

4. Recording the said submission, the respondent police are directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.232 of 2019 at the earliest, upon production of the vehicle and documents by the petitioner.

5. With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of. No costs.
