ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner for promotion under Career Advancement Scheme as per All India Council for Technical Education norms on par with Faculty of Engineering and Technology teachers with reference to minimum academic performance and service requirements as per Notification dated 09.08.2018 issued by the second respondent University, by considering the representation submitted by the petitioner dated 11.01.2019. 2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and C.Jayaprakash, learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent and the learned counsel for the second respondent.

3. During the course of hearing, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has submitted a representation to the 2/5

second respondent on 11.01.2019, requesting the respondents to consider the petitioner for promotion under Career Advancement Scheme. But the said representation was not considered by the second respondent till date and it is still pending. The learned counsel further submits that if a direction is issued to the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner in accordance with law, interest of justice would be met to the petitioner.

Considering the request made by the learned counsel for the petitioner as he is confining his relief to the extent of consideration of the representation submitted by the petitioner to the second respondent, in our considered opinion, it is appropriate and reasonable to dispose of this Writ Petition without going into the merits of the case, by giving directions to the second respondent, to meet the interest of justice. 5.Accordingly, this Writ Petition is disposed of, directing the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 11.01.2019 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law as per the notification dated 09.08.2018 and communicate the decision taken by the second 3/5

respondent to the petitioner, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

No costs.
