ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed in the nature of a Mandamus seeking a direction against the respondent to verify the certificates of the petitioner and also to conduct interview for the post of combined Accounts. 2.The petitioner had applied for the said post and had also written her examination. She had successfully completed the examination. She was then called for verification of certificates on 03.02.2025 and for interview on 04.02.2025. The petitioner had sent an E-mail expressing difficulty in attending the certificate verification and also interview on those two dates, since she was in an extremely advanced stage of pregnancy. As a matter of fact, a child was born on 04.02.2025. Expressing difficulty in travelling to Chennai from Coimbatore, the petitioner had sought rescheduling of the verification of the certificates and also the interview. 3.The said E-mail was responded by a one line letter by the respondent rejecting such reply. They have not examined whether the reason
given requires rescheduling of the certificate verification and conducting of interview. They could have also called upon the petitioner to attend the interview through online. The respondent appears to have just rejected the representation sent by the petitioner through E-mail. The petitioner had also enclosed a Medical Certificate giving reasons why she could not attend on 03.02.2025 and 04.02.2025.
4.The learned counsel for the petitioner contended that the selection process had not been completed and that the counselling is scheduled on 19.02.2025.
5.Taking all the factors into consideration, a Mandamus is issued to the respondent to conduct verification of the certificates and conduct interview to the petitioner on 18.02.2025 and examine the rank position of the petitioner and thereafter, take further decision in this regard. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs. 17.02.2025 Index:Yes/No Internet:Yes/No smv
