ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking to withdraw Crime No.122 of 2022 pending on the file of the respondent and transfer the same to CBCID or any other competent agency and to file the final report within the stipulated time as fixed by this Court.

When the matter was taken up for hearing today, the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that the case is of the year 2022. After conducting investigation and finding that the accused were not traceable, the respondent dropped further action and filed the final report before the V Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore. The learned Magistrate, by an order dated 30.07.2025, also granted permission to the respondent to proceed with further investigation, if any fresh materials surface. 3.

At this juncture, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that if the respondent Police are unable to trace the accused, the petitioner is entitled to compensation and hence, the petitioner may be granted liberty to give a representation before the appropriate authority seeking compensation, in accordance with law.

Recording the submissions made by the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side), this Criminal Original Petition stands closed with liberty as sought by the petitioner, if so advised.
