ORDER
[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] Seeking a direction to the respondents to produce the petitioner's daughter Samvidhya, aged about 18 years, before this Court and to set her at liberty, the present habeas corpus petition has been filed.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that his daughter Samvidhya, aged about 18 years went missing on 01.02.2020 and that the police have not taken any effective steps to secure her.
3. The Inspector of Police,Pallikonda Circle, has filed a status report dated 13.02.2020, wherein it has been stated as follows:
"8. I submit that on the same day i.e., on 04.02.2020 the Special Sub Inspector of Police along with the parents of detenu went to Deputy Superintendent of Police, Cuddalore and met the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
detenu and she gave a written statement that wherein she stated that without her parents made arrangement for her marriage and did not allow her to use mobile phone, while being so she received a sum of Rs.6,500/- for her mother to pay college fees and by using the said money, she left from her house and went by bus to her old friend's Muthu's house on her own decision and also stating that she is major and her date of birth is 26.11.2001 and she came to her father lodged complaint about she is missing, hence she has surrendered before the Superintendent Office, Cuddlaore. Further she is presently staying at her above said friend Muthu's residence on her own willing and none of them has kidnapped her and also no further action taken against the complaint lodged by his father about the missing of her.
Further she is stating that she is searching job for her at Cuddalore. To the above said fact, the detenu's friend Muthu and his father have also given their written statements on the same day i.e., on 04.02.2020. Further the Special Sub Inspector of Police collected all the above written statements and also taken photos (i) parents of detenu along with detenu and parents of detenu's friend Muthu along with the said Muthu."
4. In view of the above, the habeas corpus petition stands closed.
