The petitioner challenges the Notification issued by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission dated 22.08.2014 calling for application for filling up the post of Assistant Works Manager in Government Press and Assistant Works Manager in the Tamil Nadu Arasu Press. As per the said Notification, there are eight posts of Assistant Works Manager in the Tamil Nadu Stationery and Printing Service and one post of Assistant Works Manager in the Tamil Nadu General Service.
According to the petitioner, he is entitled to be appointed as Assistant Works Manager by transfer of service on account of his qualification and experience.

3. When the writ petition is taken up for consideration, learned Standing Counsel appearing for Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission by producing a copy of the proceedings issued by the Commission stated that a decision was taken to go ahead with the selection process relating to the appointment of 8 posts of Assistant Works Manager in the Government Press. According to the Commission, they have decided to keep one post of Assistant Works Manager, which is now occupied by the petitioner by holding charge.
4. In view of the report submitted by the Commission, nothing survives for adjudication in the writ petition.
