.. Respondent Contempt Petition has been filed under Section 11 of the Contempt of Court Act praying to punish the respondent for having committed wilful disobedience of order passed in Crl.O.P.No.5465/2020 dated 10.03.2020.

ORDER

This Contempt Petition has been filed on the premises that the respondent police, inspite of specific direction of this Court in Crl.O.P.No.5465 of 2020 dated 10.03.2020 to complete the investigation and file a final report in Crime No.403 of 2019 have not filed the final report within the period of six months specified by the Court. 2.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) would submit that the investigation in Crime No.403 of 2019 was taken up by the respondent police and final report has been filed before the Judicial Magistrate No.II, Kancheepuram on 21.04.2022. The delay in filing the final report was due to the intervening pandemic situation and there is no wilful default or disobedience. A copy of the final report prepared by the respondent police also furnished to this Court for perusal. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) states that the final report filed in the Registry of the Judicial Magistrate No.II, Kancheepuram is yet to be taken on file.

4.Considering the said submission, the respondent police is directed to pursue their final report pending before the Judicial Magistrate No.II, Kancheepuram and get it processed at the earliest. 5.With the above direction, this Contempt Petition is closed. 27.04.2022 ari Index:yes/no To 1.The Judicial Magistrate No.II, Kancheepuram. 2.Mr.Jaikumar, Inspector of Police, Walajabad Police Station, Walajabad, Kancheepuram District.
