ORDER
(Made by the Hon'ble Acting Chief Justice) The petitioner, a retired army personnel, has come to this Court for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider his representation dated 23.08.2022.
2. According to the petitioner, he has been cultivating crops in his agricultural lands belonging situated in Pallakollai Village, Vasanthapuram, Ananthapuram Panchayat, Pollur Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District comprised in S.Nos.117/3, 148/2, 148/4, 148/7. There is a canal called Kalasathu Kalvai, near the petitioner's agricultural lands. The water coming from Javadu Hills reaches Kalasamudram lake via Pallakollai village. The above lake serves the agricultural needs in the area.
3. Presently, some anti-social elements are polluting the lake by burning dead bodies. During rainy season, ashes and skeleton are carried to the canal by the flowing water, thereby completely polluting the canal water. This contaminated water causes health
hazards to the dependents of the canal water. In this regard, a detailed representation has been given on 23.08.2022; but no response was forthcoming. Therefore, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
4. Mr.Muthukumar, learned State Government Pleader, submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered and disposed of within a period of four weeks.
5. Accordingly, we direct respondents 4 and 5 to jointly consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 23.08.2022, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The writ petition stands disposed of.
6. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, WMP No.5067 of 2023 is closed.
