The prayer in this writ petition is to issue a writ of Certiorari, to quash the order dated 11.07.2012 in file No.MAS/PC/00019/10(POL-I, of R-1, whereby, the 1st respondent had impounded the passport of the petitioner. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
2. When this matter is taken up for hearing today, both counsel would submit that the passport has expired already and thereby, the writ petition has become infructuous and in any event if the petitioner applies for a fresh passport he has to surrender the existing passport to the Authorities.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner can apply afresh and the respondents will consider the same in accordance with law.
4. Recording the same, this writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous petitions are closed.
