ORDER

The prayer sought for herein is for a writ of mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to issue patta in favour of the petitioner's property Natham land comprised in Old Survey No.72/1 Part, New Survey No.236/26, Old Door No.9, New Door No.126, Arcot Road, Valasaravakkam Village, Saidapet Taluk, Now Maduravoyal Taluk to an extent of 00260 sq.mtr pursuant to the report submitted by the third respondent in proceeding Na.Ka.No.1294/2020/A1 dated 13.08.2021 within the time stipulated by this Court.

2. In respect of Natham land comprised in Old Survey No.72/1 Part, New Survey No.236/26, Old Door No.9, New Door No.126, Arcot Road, Valasaravakkam Village, Saidapet Taluk, Now Maduravoyal Taluk, it is a claim of the petitioner that during the life time of the petitioner's husband and subsequently also, the petitioner's family has been residing there. Therefore, in order to get Natham patta, the petitioner has given a representation to the respondents, pursuant to which, enquiry is being conducted by the second respondent, however, so far no action has been 2/4

taken, despite this representation to that effect had been given by the petitioner to the Tahsildar on 23.10.2020. Therefore, to speed up the enquiry and to give Natham patta in the name of the petitioner, the petitioner has moved the present writ petition with the aforesaid prayer.

3. Heard Mr.Durai.Gunasekaran, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.P.Sathish, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

Learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents would submit that the enquiry is going on at the second respondent's office therefore, shortly it will be completed and an order to that effect whether the petitioner is entitled to get Natham patta or not would be passed within a time frame that may be stipulated by this Court.

Considering the said submission made by the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents, this Court is inclined to dispose of this writ petition with the following order: That there shall be a direction to the second respondent to complete the enquiry, which has already been commenced 3/4

mp pursuant to the representation given by the petitioner and accordingly, pass necessary orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law within a period of three(3) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
