Respondents PRAYER: This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, seeking for a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to issue appointment order to the petitioner as P.G.Assistant (Telugu) based on the selection conducted in 2013 and confer all the consequential benefits by considering the representation dated 22.05.2015 made by the petitioner. By consent of learned counsel on either side, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the time of admission itself.

Tmt.S.Geetha, claiming to be fully qualified to be appointed as Post Graduate Assistant-Telugu subject, registered her name in the employment exchange, Chennai on 07.06.2013 and subsequently, in response to the notification issued by the 1st respondent Board for the post of Post Graduate Assistant (Telugu), applied for the same. Since there were two posts of Post Graduate Assistant (Telugu) notified, one has been earmarked for General Turn and another for Scheduled Caste. The petitioner belongs to Scheduled caste community. Therefore, she applied for the said post under Scheduled Caste category. After conducting the written test on 21.07.2013, she was awarded 79 marks and placed in the top of the scheduled caste category as https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Subsequently her name was also included in the provisional select list, followed by the certificate verification and she was awaiting for issuance of order of appointment. But, till date, the respondents have not come forward to issue any order. Therefore, the petitioner after waiting for a long time submitted representations dated 12.07.2014 and 22.05.2015 to the respondents requesting to issue appointment order. As they have not come forward even to consider the same, she has filed this writ petition.

3. Heard Mr.C.Selvaraj, learned senior counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Additional Government Pleader, after accepting notice for the respondents.

Considering the aspects that the petitioner having participated in the selection and being the only scheduled caste candidate selected in the provisional list as No.1, it is not known as to why her name has not been considered for the selection to the post of Post Graduate Assistant (Telegu). Therefore, this Court, putting on notice Mr.S.Gunasekaran, learned Additional Government Pleader, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.05.2015 on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a coy of this order.

5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
