The Petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in Crime No.20 of 2023 registered by the respondent police for the offences under Sections 498(A), 494, 294(b) and 506(1) IPC.

2. It is stated by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) that the Petitioner had married the defacto complainant on 11.07.2019. It is stated that without such marriage being dissolved by any Court decree, the Petitioner had also married yet another lady.

The learned counsel for the Petitioner stated that the said lady is a model and that a photograph was taken with both the Petitioner and her and it was projected as if he had married her but he stated that he had never married her. But, that is an issue which will have to be examined only during the course of trial.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) however stated that the Petitioner and the said lady had driven out the defacto complainant out of the house. That is a very serious allegation.

5. In view of that particular fact and also the fact that owing to the reason stated by the learned Principal Sessions Judge that custodial interrogation is required and the fact that there is no change in circumstances, I am not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the Petitioner herein.

6. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected Criminal Miscellaneous Petition is closed. 13.03.2024 mkn2 2/3
