Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 3 to prohibit and not to give permission to any form of animal to animal fight or combat like, cock fights and Sheep/Goat fighting in any territory to which the prevention of cruelty to animals Act 1963 applies and to prosecute persons who organize and conduct and take part in such events as per the due process of law.

ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The matter is covered by a Division Bench judgment of Madurai Bench of this Court in W.P.(MD) No.8040 of 2014 (S.Kannan v. The Commissioner of Police, Madurai City, Madurai and others), decided on 21.5.2014, though it is stated that something is still pending before the Hon'ble Supreme Court.
2. The writ petition is thus disposed of in terms of the aforesaid order. No costs. Consequently, M.P.No.1 of 2014 is closed.
