PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to transfer the detenu, namely, G.E.Chakkarai @ Chakaravarthy, S/o.Elumalai, who is a life convict prisoner, Convict No.436, from Central Prison, Cuddalore to Central Prison, Salem.

1. The petitioner is the wife of the detenu, namely, Chakkarai @ Chakaravarthy, S/o.Elumalai, male, aged about 31 years.
1.1. By virtue of this petition, the petitioner seeks to transfer the detenue, namely, G.E.Chakkarai @ Chakaravarthy, S/o.Elumalai, who is a life convict prisoner, Convict No.436, from Central Prison, Cuddalore to Central Prison, Salem.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor, has produced a proceeding of the Additional Director General of Prison, Egmore, Chennai. The said proceeding is indicative of the fact that the Government has accepted the plea of the petitioner to transfer the detenue, namely, G.E.Chakkarai @ Chakaravarthy, S/o.Elumalai, who is a life convict prisoner, Convict No.436, from Central Prison, Cuddalore to Central Prison, Salem.
2.1. Copy of the said proceeding of the Additional Director General of Prison, Egmore, Chennai is placed on record. 2.2. To be noted, this is a temporary transfer for a period of one (1) year.
3. Having regard to the aforesaid development, the counsel for the petitioner says that, for the moment, the grievance stands satisfied and therefore, he has instruction not to press the petition any further.
3.1. The said statement is recorded.
