ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by R.SUBRAMANIAN, J.) The 1st respondent namely, the Executive Officer, Thimiri Selection Grade Town Panchayat, by his proceedings in Na.Ka.No.278/2024/A1 dated 09.08.2024, has passed an order regularising the services of the petitioner in this contempt petition with effect from 27.08.2004. Reliance has been placed on the order passed by us on 02.08.2024 stating that the regularisation must be from 27.08.2004. We find that this 27.08.2004 is actually a mistake. The order, contempt of which has been complained of, made in W.A.No.2717 of 2018 is very categoric and clear where, it says that the regularisation should be with effect from 24.08.2001. 2.

We have no power to alter the order made in the writ appeal in the contempt proceedings. The typographical error in the order dated 02.08.2024 is sought to be taken advantage of by the respondents. It is now contended that they have sought for review of the order of the Division Bench made in Page No.1 of 3

W.A.No.2717 of 2018 dated 04.07.2019. It is stated that the review is not yet numbered. We do not think that the contempt proceedings can wait for the learned Additional Advocate General to take steps to get the review numbered eternally. Hence, the compliance reported is not accepted. The respondents are directed to comply with the order of the Division Bench by 16.08.2024. 3.

Post the matter on 16.08.2024. If no order is passed complying with the direction of the Division Bench in W.A.No.2717 of 2018 dated 04.07.2019, the respondents will be present in person at 01.00 p.m. on 16.08.2024.
