Respondents Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to forthwith enrol the petitioner herein as an apprentice under the third respondent and to permit him to complete the apprenticeship course therein. For Petitioner - Mr.L.Chandrakumar For Respondent - Mr.K.Thangapandi, Government Advocate.

ORDER

The relief sought for in this writ petition is for a direction to direct the respondents to forthwith enrol the writ petitioner as an apprentice under the third respondent and to permit him to complete the Apprenticeship Course.

2. The learned counsel for the writ petitioner states that the writ petitioner was directed with an opportunity of undergoing the Apprenticeship Training on the ground that he was studying the PG Course at the relevant point of time. However, a https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

student undergoing the PG Course, cannot claim the benefit of Apprenticeship Training under the Act, since the Apprenticeship itself is a full time training and the student undergoing the PG Course cannot attend the full time training by way of apprenticeship.

3. However, the writ petitioner, now after a lapse of three years from the date of filing of the writ petition, cannot seek such a direction and further, the writ petitioner by this time, would have completed the PG Course.

4. Thus, it is for the writ petitioner to submit the necessary application, if he is willing to avail the benefit of Apprenticeship Training. Under these circumstances, no further adjudication on the grounds raised in this writ petition needs to be undertaken.

5. Accordingly, the writ petition stands dismissed. However, there shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also dismissed.
