O R D E R
The petitioner has approached this Court challenging the order passed by the 3rd respondent by which his request for change of his date of birth as 04.04.1989 instead of 22.03.1989
has been rejected.
2. According to the petitioner, he was born on 04.04.1989, however while admitting in the school, his date of birth was given as 22.03.1989 which is being reflected in all educational certificates. Having known the actual date of birth, the petitioner has approached the third respondent alongwith the birth certificate, to make corrections in the educational certificates. The third respondent, by virtue of the impugned order, refused to change the date of birth in the educational certificates. Therefore, the petitioner has come before this court by way of this writ petition.
3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.
4. The petitioner passed his SSLC examination during March 2005. As per Rule 5 of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate Rules, no corrections can be made after writing the SSLC examination. Any correction in the name, date of birth or initial with regard to school records have to be made before writing the SSLC examination.
5. Admittedly, in this case, the petitioner had applied for change of his date of birth in the educational certificates, after completing his SSLC examination which is prohibited under Rule 5 of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate Rules. Moreover, the petitioner contends that his date of birth is 04.04.1989 and not 22.03.1989 which is 13 days earlier and no prejudice would be caused to the petitioner in this regard.
6. In the result, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
