Prayer: The writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondent to carry out the correction of the wrong date of birth from 24.06.1992 to 24.08.1992 in the petitioner's passport bearing No.J3093020 issued on 28.12.2010.

O R D E R

The writ petitioner was born on 24.08.1992. Unfortunately in her passport it has been entered as 24.06.1992. She wants to correct it from June 1992 to August 1992. The Court is not prepared to go into the fact whether she was born on June or August 1992. It is for the petitioner to satisfy her correct date of birth to the authorities, particularly, the Regional Passport Officer, Sashtri Bhavan, Nungambakkam, Chennai 600 034. It is submitted that notice has been issued to the petitioner by https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

the 1st respondent to appear in person between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on 11.12.2019 and to produce the relevant records to show that she was actually born on 24.08.1992 and not on 24.06.1992. On production of relevant records, the 1st respondent may, carry out necessary corrections, if they are satisfied with the records and based on the relevant finding for such correction of the records.

2.At any rate, that the respondents would pass necessary orders and necessary corrections on or before 31.12.2019. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
