ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by T.S.Sivagnanam, J.) The learned Special Government Pleader submitted that identical issue was subject matter of two other Public Interest Litigations in W.P.Nos.20474 and 21160 of 2018 one of which, has been filed by the petitioner herein, viz., W.P.No.21160 of 2018, and the prayer sought for in the said

writ petition was more or less identical to that of the prayer sought for in the writ petition in which, this contempt petition arises.

2.A Division Bench of this Court, by order dated 11.10.2018, after elaborately considering the matter and considering the report of the Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Coimbatore, who had investigated the site, found that the allegation made by the petitioner therein that illegal tapping continued, even after the lock and seal by the authorities, was found to be incorrect. Hence, the Court recorded that the statement made by the petitioner is false and also directed statutory notice to be issued under the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 as to why the petitioner should not be punished.

3.In the light of the above, this contempt petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, Sub Application (OS) No.260 of 2018 is closed.
