PRAYER : The Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, to direct the first and second respondent to provide necessary police protection to the petitioner's life and property against the illegal activities of the accused person in the complaint given by the petitioner dated 15.10.2021 and 15.01.2022 pending on the file of the second respondent .

O R D E R

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking for a direction to first and second respondents to provide necessary police protection to the petitioner's life and property against the illegal activities of the accused person in the complaint given by the petitioner dated 15.10.2021 and 15.01.2022, pending on the file of the second respondent.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is a senior citizen, aged about 75 years. His daughter one Poongudi was married to one Dr.Jeyapaul. At the time of marriage, the petitioner had gifted his daughter with house. Thereafter, https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

matrimonial dispute emanated between the petitioner's daughter and his son-in-law, due to which, on 05.10.2021, his son-in-law had threatened the petitioner along with two of his associates. In respect of the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Crime No.985 of 2021 was registered by the respondent police. The accused Jeyapaul had come out of jail and still continuing to threaten the petitioner. Therefore, the present petition has been filed seeking for police protection.

3. Mr.A.Gokulakrishnan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that on the complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Crime No.985 of 2021 was registered. The accused Jeyapaul has come out on bail. The matter relates to the matrimonial dispute between the parties. However, if threat continues to the petitioner, the respondent police will give adequate police protection to the petitioner on information.

4. Recording the same, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
