ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a mandamus to direct the respondent to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 9.6.2017.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that after the petitioner was appointed as Office Assistant in the year 1993, he was given promotion to the post of Assistant in the year 2005. Subsequently, on 5.2.2008, he was also further temporarily promoted to the post of Assistant Section Officer. Now the respondent has issued G.O.(4D) No.8, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (U1) Department dated 20.3.2017 preparing a panel for promotion to the post of Assistant Section Officer for the year 2016-17, showing the name of the petitioner in Serial No.1 in the post of Assistant. As the petitioner was already given temporary promotion to the post of Assistant Section Officer by order dated 5.2.2008, he has given a representation on 9.6.2017 to consider his regularisation to the post of Assistant Section Officer from the date of his temporary https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

promotion made under Rule 39(a)(i) of the General Rules for Tamil Nadu State and Subordinate Service Rules. The said representation has not been considered.

3. Therefore, putting on notice the learned Government Advocate for the respondent, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 9.6.2017 on merits and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
