PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, calling for the entire records relating to the petitioner detention under Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982 vide detention order, dated 19.06.2017 on the file of the 2nd respondent herein made in proceedings Memo No.368/BCDFGISSSV/2017, quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the respondents herein to produce the petitioner namely, Manikandan @ Soution Mani, S/o.Balasubramanian, aged 29 years before this Court and set him at liberty from detention, now the petitioner detained at Central Prison, Puzhal, Chennai.

O R D E R

1. The detenu, namely, Manikandan@ soultion Mani, male, aged about 29 years, stands detained by the second respondent by virtue of his order bearing No.368/BCDFGISSSV/2017, dated 19.06.2017, wherein, he has been held to be a "Goonda", within the meaning of Section 2(f) of Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

1.1. The said order is under challenge in this Habeas Corpus Petition.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that the said order of detention, passed by the second respondent against the detenu has been revoked by the Government in G.O.Rt.No.4022, Home, Prohibition & Excise (X) Department dated 23.08.2017; a copy of the order has also been produced.

3. The submission of the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, is taken on record. Accordingly, the petition is closed, as the same has been rendered infructuous.
