Respondents Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the sixth respondent to forbear the eleventh respondent from proceeding with the illegal quarrying of sand/de-silting of sand in Survey No.764 from the Nemam lake situate at Poonamallee Union, Thiruvallur District based on the petitioner's representation dated 02.03.2015. In view of the change of policy of granting the right of quarry in favour of Public Works Department of the Government of Tamil Nadu, the relief sought for in the present writ petition has lost its relevance. Thus, no further adjudication needs to be entertained in respect of the grounds raised in the present writ petition.
