Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 21.11.2022 expeditiously and to forthwith remove all illegal and unauthorised encroachments made by the residents on either side of the Angalakurichi Road from Kottur Town Panchayat Office Junction to the Kumaran Kattam Junction within the Kottur Malaiyandipattinam Village, and consequently direct the restoration of the Public Bus Transport facility along the said road through the Kottur Malaiyandipattinam Village.

ORDER
(Order of the court was made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) We have heard Mr.E.J.Ayyappan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.J.Ravindran, learned Additional Advocate General, assisted by Mr.A.Selvendran, learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents.
2. The Tahsildar, Anaimalai Taluk, informs that the road in question is under the control of the Highway Department and the
waste water drainage work is being done by Kottur Town Panchayat (respondent No.5). A joint field survey with the officers of the Rural Development Department, Revenue Department and Highway Department will be carried out by the land surveyor and if there is encroachment, action will be taken to remove the encroachment by conducting a field inspection by the respective Department.
3. We would only add that the process shall be expedited and steps be taken in accordance with law.
4. With the above observation, the writ petition stands disposed. There will be no order as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.5296 of 2023 is closed.
