ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] The habeas corpus petition has been filed seeking to direct the first respondent to produce the petitioner's son viz., G.Ponnambalam @ Vadivelu, aged 45 years, S/o.P.Govindaraji, before this Court and set him at liberty.

It is the case of the petitioner that his son Ponnambalam @ Vadivelu, aged about 45 years, went missing since 04.01.2016 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure him.

Today, Mr.K.Jayabal, Head Constable 3362, Thakkolam Police Station, Arakkonam Taluk, Ranipet District, is present. 4.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Thakkolam Police Station Crime No.2 of https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

2016 was registered on 08.01.2016 and during the course of investigation, it came to light that Ponnambalam was a drunkard and also separated from his wife.

Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition is closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Arakkonam, to monitor the investigation in Thakkolam Police Station Crime No.2 of 2016 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu is secured, he may be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Arakkonam, under intimation to the petitioner.
