2. Mr.E.Raj Thilak, learned State Additional Public Prosecutor, accepts notice for the respondent and submits that no other separate appeal has been preferred by the appellant before us.

3. Considering the facts / circumstances of the case, nature of the matter, we accept the reason for delay i.e., that the petitioner was unable to contact his relatives to prefer the appeal as he is confined in prison from the date of his conviction and now only he is able to approach the Legal Services Committee and preferred the appeal. We also notice that the delay sought to be condoned is 284 days.
