O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed for direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation to regularise his service and grant him permanent status.

The petitioner is qualified with SSLC and he was appointed on temporary basis as Section Writer in Alandur Municipality. He had worked from 1988 to 2001. Thereafter, he was not engaged for any service. Now, he submitted representation as per GO.Ms.No.125 Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department dated 27.05.1997 for regularisation on the ground that those who are in employment prior to 01.10.1996 may be regularised after bringing them in the consolidated scale for year.

Admittedly, the petitioner's service was not engaged after the year 2001. The petitioner submitted representation in the year 2012. Therefore, the request made by the petitioner cannot be considered now. Further, the petitioner is now aged about 56 years. As such, this writ petition is devoid of merits and liable to be dismissed. 4.

Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
