O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to disperse the gratuity amount of Rs.2,09,515/- and group insurance amount of Rs.1,00,000/- to the petitioner within a time frame stipulated by this Court.

2.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is a senior citizen and is receiving family pension on account of the death of her husband who worked as sanitary worker under the first respondent. The petitioner's husband died on 11.06.2005 while he was in service, however, till date the gratuity amount of Rs.2,09,515/- and group insurance amount of Rs.1,00,000/- were not paid to the petitioner. Though the respondents claim that the amounts were already settled vide cheque nos.399381 and 600766 dated 10.03.2006 and 08.01.2006, the petitioner has not received the said amount.

3.This Court on 05.01.2026 issued direction to the first respondent to appoint a competent person to conduct a detailed 2/4

enquiry as to whether the amount has been paid to the petitioner and if the amount is paid, to file proof of the same, pursuant to which, the respondents filed a detailed report and also produced the original ledger for perusal of this Court with regard to payment of gratuity amount of Rs.2,09,515/- through cheque no.399381 dated 10.03.2006 and the same was received by the petitioner by affixing her thumb impression and her photograph was also affixed in the ledger in the presence of Accounts Officer and with regard to payment of group insurance amount of Rs.1,00,000/- through cheque no.600766 dated 08.01.2006 and the same was received by the petitioner by affixing her thumb impression and her photograph was also affixed in the ledger in the presence of Accounts Officer and acknowledgment of the said amount was also produced before this Court by producing ICICI Bank statement relates to the year 2006 and Corporation Bank account relates to the year 2006. Hence, the grievance expressed by the petitioner is mis-conceived.

4.The writ petition is dismissed. No costs.
