Respondents Prayer: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents 1 to 3 to take all steps to remove the encroachment made by the 4th respondent in S.Nos.106/1, 107/3, 93/2, 6/1, 67, 86, 71, 78/3, 94/1, 97, 100/2B of Sirupuzhalpettai Village, Gummidipoondi Taluk, Tiruvallur District. ORDER

(Made by the Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.V.Ramamurthy, learned counsel for the petitioners and Mr.K.Karthik Jagannath, learned Government Advocate for respondents 1 to 3.

2. Learned Government Advocate submits that S.No.6/1 is a patta land and apart from S.No.6/1, all other lands in the survey numbers mentioned in the petition are government lands.

3. Learned Government Advocate further submits that the authority would conduct a survey within a period of two months from today and depending upon the report of the survey, if any encroachment is found, steps in accordance with law, would be undertaken to remove the encroachments expeditiously.

4. In view of the said statement, the writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no orders as to costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.6882 of 2024 is closed. W.M.P.No.6879 of 2024, filed to permit the petitioners to file a single writ petition is allowed, inasmuch as they have paid separate set of court fees. (S.V.G., CJ.) (D.B.C., J.) 08.03.2024 Index :
