M/s. S.Vanitha Joice Rani, Standing Counsel Order This petition has been filed for the following relief: "To issue a writ of mandamus, directing the respondents to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 07.11.2025 and consequently direct the respondents to record the correct particulars in the birth certificate of the petitioner's daughter, Harshitha Moorthy and upload the same in online in the Registration No.683/2002/3 by the respondent-Corporation.

2.

The petitioner would submit that his daughter was born on 04.09.2002 at B.M. Hospital, Nanganallur, Chennai, and a birth certificate was

issued. Initially, her name was entered as "M. Harshini." Subsequently, on the petitioner's representation, the name was corrected as "M. Harshitha" and a revised certificate was issued on 02.12.2022. In all records pertaining to the petitioner's daughter for the past 20 years, her name has been consistently mentioned as "M. Harshitha." However, while uploading the corrected birth certificate in the online portal, erroneous entries continued to appear in the online copy with regard to the name of the petitioner's daughter and the names of her parents. The petitioner had submitted a representation dated 07.11.2025 to the respondents requesting correction of the said errors in the online birth certificate. Though the representation was received, no steps have been taken by the respondents to rectify the mistakes. Hence, the petitioner has approached this Court seeking appropriate relief.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the materials available on record.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider and pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's representation on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of three

weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Accordingly, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
