On the last hearing when the case was heard, there was no representation for the petitioners. Even today, an adjournment is sought for and the said request is rejected.

2. On a perusal of the affidavit filed in support of the writ petition, it is seen that the petitioners seek for grant of Ryotwari patta by considering their representation submitted to the third respondent. Such a prayer sought for in the writ petition is misconceived. Unless and until the proceedings under the Act are followed, the petitioners claim for issuance of Ryotwari patta by issuing a writ of mandamus cannot be given.
