ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) The petitioner has filed the public interest litigation alleging that the third respondent was sought to be given quarrying lease without his making payments in respect of another lease in pursuance to the order of the District Collector, Cuddalore dated 30.03.2013 filed along with the typed set of papers.

2. The period for which the second lease was granted is over and thus, the present petition has become infructuous to that extent. However, it is relevant to note that if there are outstanding from respondent No.3, that aspect needs to be verified by the first respondent and necessary steps be taken to make the recovery thereof. It is stated that huge amount of Rs.95,40,000/- is due. The District Collector, Cuddalore to look into this issue and take necessary action in accordance with law within a maximum period of one month of the receipt of this order.

3. The writ petition is dismissed with the aforesaid observation. No costs. Consequently, M.P.No.1 of 2014 is closed.
