ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to call for the records and quash all the proceedings against the petitioner in D.V.No.2 of 2014 on the file of the XIV Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai District.

2. It is seen that R.Saimohan (the respondent herein) who is the Father-in-Law of Dr.Sara Poornima (the petitioner herein) had initiated proceedings in D.V.No.2 of 2014 before the XIV Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai District, under the Domestic Violence Act.

3. Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing on both sides represented that the parties have entered into an amicable settlement and R.Saimohan (the respondent herein) has filed an affidavit, wherein, he has stated as follows; " 3.Based on the Joint Memorandum of Compromise (JMC) dated 12.05.2015 reached between my family, and the family of the petitioner/Respondent in this quash petition, I am willing to withdraw the Domestic Violence Proceedings in D.V.No.2 of 2014 on the file of the Hon'ble XIVth Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai.

4. I therefore humbly pray, that this Honourable Court consider the same and allow quashing of the Domestic Violence proceeding in DV 2 of 2014 on the file of the Honourable XIVth Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai and thus render justice."

4.In view of the above, the proceedings in D.V.No.2 of 2014 on the file of the Honourable XIV Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai, is hereby quashed. Consequently, the connected M.P.No.1 of 2014 is closed.
